Mine is a dream like all other dreams,
To sleep and awaken to the life I wanted,
To close my eyes and open them to the truth,
To hear the sounds of a family, friends, a lover,
To touch her skin,
To smell her hair,
To taste the kisses,
And then awaken, knowing that it was all just a dream, that lonely dream, and that once again,

I am alone.

Mine is a dream that surpasses all other dreams,
That flits at the edge of my vision,
That resounds as an echo in my ears,
The shiver of another soul crossing mine,
Then chased forever 'round and never captured.
Such an unfulfilled dream,

To the light of life, and living, gains wings.
