A quick fix, a band aid, a simple little nothing.
Uttered without a second thought, just something that escapes the lips
the first breath and the last word.

Turning what is wrong into a passing comment, action or assault.
The sinful word that makes everything better.
It doesn't work like it should, because it is just a sound.

Sorry isn't an action, it is vocalization.
It's used when you have nothing else to say,
it's a social obligation,
Sorry is worthless, unless you mean it.

Back up sorry, show what it means.
Show remorse, display regret, make them know
you're apologetic.

A pictures worth a thousand words, but an action can't be measured.
a single gesture that lets someone know how you feel
it can change a day, a week, a year, a life.

Saying sorry, is as good as a winter wind.
It doesn't do anything, just lets you know it's there.

I realize Hell's as cool as ice
and the touch of sin did get me in,
